Hints for Using this Web Site

This reference web site is filled with information designed to ease the transition into CodeWarrior. There is a complete description of all our documentation (along with links to the docs themselves), a collection of online books and source code, and a lot more.

Opening pdf Files

This web site was designed and tested with the latest and greatest versions of several browsers. If the links designed to open pdf files don't work using your browser, try upgrading to the latest version of your browser.

If you click on a link to a pdf file and you get a message that says your browser cannot find the file specified, the problem is likely one of two things. Either you did not install the pdf file at all, or you did not install it in the default location where this reference web site expects to find it. You can go back and install the pdf file in the CodeWarrior Documentation folder, the Third Party Books folder, or the Third Party Documentation folder, and then the links should work. Or, you can open the pdf file from within Adobe Acrobat, rather than opening it from your browser.

If you're still having trouble getting Navigator 4.5 to open the pdf files on your Mac, take these steps:

1. Launch Navigator.
2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences....
3. In the left-hand pane, select Applications. A dialog box will open on the right.
4. In the dialog box, select New. Another dialog box will open.
5. In the new dialog box:
   • For Description, enter Acrobat Files.
   • For MIME Type, enter application/Acrobat.
   • For Suffixes, enter pdf.
   • In the Handled by group box, press the Application radio button.
   • Press the Choose button. A file dialog will open.
   • Browse through your system to find and select the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
   • Under File Type, select PDF.
   • Make sure you check the box that says "Use this MIME type for outgoing attachments."
6. Click all the OK buttons to get back out.

Opening CodeWarrior Projects

This site was also designed to launch CodeWarrior projects. We tested the site with several browser configurations, and found that the ability to launch CodeWarrior, open a project, and then run the project is not supported by all browsers. If your browser has trouble launching and running projects in CodeWarrior, first try upgrading to the latest version of your browser. If you still have problems, just launch the CodeWarrior IDE and open the projects from within CodeWarrior, rather than from your browser.
